City of Subiaco residents who choose to become Australian citizens are invited to participate in the city's citizenship ceremonies.
The ceremonies offer new citizens an opportunity to connect their cultural past with their new community.
The city usually hosts four citizenship ceremonies throughout the year on a Saturday morning in the Council Chambers, as well as an Australia Day citizenship ceremony in Rankin Gardens on 26 January each year.
Invited guests, family and friends attend the ceremonies, hosted by the Mayor, to welcome the new Australian citizens.
Candidates make a pledge of commitment and are presented with their citizenship certificate. At the close of formalities, the national anthem is sung, and guests enjoy morning tea.
