Award for a mentally healthy life
Monday 20 October 2014

nullSubiaco resident Clyde Goddard won the seniors category of the Act Belong Commit awards this month, recognising his contributions to the community and his efforts to lead a mentally healthy life.

For the past thirty years Mr Goddard has been involved with a range of community groups including the Shenton Park Senior Citizen’s Association, the Shenton Park RSL and the Subiaco Football Club.

He is also the secretary, treasurer and membership officer of the RSL committee, is involved in organising the Shenton Park ANZAC Day celebrations and Poppy Day and has volunteered for the local Meals on Wheels.

Mr Goddard said he did the work for the community because he’s had wonderful people in his life who have helped him, and he was now paying them back.

Outside volunteer work, he stays mentally active by doing cryptic crosswords every day, Sodoku and trying to solve nine-letter word puzzles.
