AFL finals fever has come to Subiaco, with two home final games to be played at Subiaco Oval this weekend – West Coast Eagles v Hawthorn Football Club on Friday 11 September at 6.20pm and Fremantle Dockers v Sydney Swans on Saturday 12 September at 1.20pm.
Visitors to Subiaco this weekend will be able to enjoy free face painting in team colours at Forrest Walk before the games, and declare their allegiance at the two ‘parklets’ decked out in team colours in Hay Street – the Eagles parklet will be located on Hay Street across from the Subiaco Hotel and the Dockers parklet will be located outside Stimulatte cafe further up Hay Street towards Subiaco Oval.
Local businesses are also showing their support for the two WA teams. Enjoy the Subiaco hospitality by coming in early or staying after the game.
The northern end of the Rokeby Road median strip has been painted yellow, just as Fremantle's cappcuccino strip has been painted purple. The street painting in Subiaco and Fremantle is sponsored by Seven West Media and supported by both football clubs.
