2016-17 budget
Friday 22 July 2016

BudgetFlyerWEB-1.jpgThe city’s 2016-17 budget was adopted at a Special Council Meeting on Tuesday 19 July. In 2016-17, rates will increase by 4.1 per cent. This increase is made up of a normal operational increase of 1 per cent and the remaining 3.1 per cent is directly attributable to the City of Perth Act, which has had a significant financial impact on the City of Subiaco.

As well as the core services we provide to the community, our focus over the next twelve months will be the completion of the Rokeby Road upgrade and other projects to revitalise the town centre, capital works including drainage improvements, roads renewal, parks and reserves projects, and a number of community and environmental initiatives. Key capital works projects this financial year will help secure the city’s future as a vibrant inner-city community.

Highlights from this year’s budget include:

  • Town centre projects – $4.5 million
  • Road renewal – $1.1 million
  • Community facilities – $2.1 million
  • Drainage upgrades – $833k
  • Lighting upgrades – $272k
  • Parks and reserves projects – $3.4 million
  • Car parks – $285k
